How to Tell if your High School Friends are Suicidal and What to Do About it

These days more and more students are finding the pressure of being in high school to be very overwhelming and stressful. It can be very difficult trying to deal with the pressures of school as well as social pressures. They have difficulties adjusting to new demands and different work loads. If a student has feelings of failure or can’t perform as well as he/she used to and does not have the adequate coping skills to deal with these pressures, he/she may become depressed. This depression can lead to hopelessness and the student may reach for drugs and or alcohol, or possibly even suicide.
